Adrielle P.

Adrielle Powers has been playing guitar since the age of 14. She has been teaching guitar lessons for all ages and levels since 2012. Though she has a background in classical music, she enjoys teaching all genres and styles. Adrielle has performed at several venues around Denver including Herman's Hideaway, Cervantes' Ballroom and Other Side, Barfly, and The Oriental. She is also an avid participator in the local open mic scene at venues such as The Alley, Roxy on Broadway, Lion's Lair, and Mozart's. As a teacher, Adrielle aims to encourage her students to be able to read and write music as well as understand rhythm, harmony, and melody. Concepts that she focuses on include but are definitely not limited to scales, chords, standard notation, tablature, improvisation, and theory. Her goal is for students to feel empowered to learn any song they want and be able to create the music they want.

Eric S.

At first glance, you may think Eric could play every big hair 80’s guitar solo, and you would probably be right. But have some ‘Patience’ and don’t ‘Jump’ to conclusions about this member of our Motley crew. Eric dug deep into jazz at Boise State University, and studied film scoring at University of Colorado, found himself playing in orchestra pits, and toured as a country guitarist while taking his rock guitar gymnastics to venues from coast to coast.
With 30+ years of playing and 25+ years of teaching, there isn’t much Eric hasn’t played or taught. He also has a great deal of experience in other aspects of the field in live audio and recording settings.
Come see our resident chef (fun fact—Eric also has a culinary degree) and get your chops well done.

Jason B.

Jason started playing guitar at the age of 9 and knew very quickly that this is what he wanted to do with his life. He was originally drawn to heavier types of music as that's where he noticed the highest level of proficiency in musicianship, particularly the guitar playing. He was quickly drawn to guitar oriented bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, then was introduced to more progressive bands like Dream Theater and Fates Warning, which quickly formed a direction for his own playing. He started studying at the Denver Guitar Institute at the age of 14 and gained an appreciation for music theory while studying scales, modes, chords, songwriting and arranging. In his early 20s he formed a band called The Quiet Room which was a progressive metal band at the cutting edge of the genre. They eventually signed to Metal Blade Records, recording two full length discs. In support of the album releases they toured the US and Canada sharing the stage with the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, Dream Theater, Gary Hoey, Savatage, Anvil, Iced Earth etc. Jason has also always had a love for acoustic guitar music and has spent a lot of time focusing on nylon string guitar techniques, like classical and flamenco, as well as steel string style guitar music such as singer songwriter and double handed tapping. Jason has been teaching guitar and bass for over twenty years to students of all ages and playing levels. He is able to teach various styles and is known to be very patient and able to explain complex subjects in simple terms. Jason customizes each lesson to the student’s desires and goals and doesn’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to teaching

Along with his 5 years of experience teaching guitar, Stephen also performed and toured with the Colorado Children's Chorale as a child, where he sang in Canada, South Africa, Italy and Austria.
